Ok.... so he's growing on me....
Scamper is a good dog. He has had his moments, where i have wanted to just KILL him! Like when he chewed up every single pair of shoes we had to wear! but really... for the most part, he has been such a good dog.
He LOVES to play catch! Course dis momma doesn't love so much the slimmy ball that is required to play with him! So, i bought one of those tennis ball 'flinger' thingy ma-jiggys. BESTEST invention i have EVER seen! EVER! I purchased a different 'name brand' at Walmart, but the originals are called ChuckIt!

(Did I mention that i LOVE this invention?)
Who thinks of these things? Bestest invention EVER! Cause now i can enjoy playing catch too. I NEVER have to touch that slimmy ball, ever!
The problem with Scamp and catch has always been that he so badly wants you to throw the ball for him... but he just won't drop the ball! We had to either try and sneak it from him, or literally take it out of his mouth. Which brings us back again to the slimmy ball thing... EW!
I am still at a loss how to teach him that he needs to DROP the ball again before we can throw it again for him. He just isn't getting it. Every now and again... but...
Being the super smartie that i am... (took me forever to figure it out) but i finally figured out how to solve the issue. We now just play with TWO balls! Ü The one you have just thrown... he will bring back just fine! It was having him let go of it was the problem... but now... i throw one... load up the other one that i still have. Wait for him to bring the one i just threw back to me... and then he sees that i already have another one loaded, so he drops the first one... and around and around we go! Works GREAT!
Best part is... he wears himself out! Then he is better behaved for the rest of the day and sleeps like a baby! Sweeeeeeet!
The below video is while we were playing catch. He loves to stick his entire face into his water dish! I jsut thought that this was so cute yesterday cause his little front paws were just resting on the edge of the dish.
Notice *** he is still very concerned every moment, exactly where his ball is. He is such a GOOF!

Wow so much has been going on in your life. How very blessed you are. I have all the faith in the world that youll complete the race. The miracle is that youve already incorporated so many healthy changes in your life,in order to qualify, youve already won in so many ways, so let this be all about the adventure.
I would suggest to get "Scamper chewy boy" to release the slimy ball from his mouth, tell him gently but firmly to drop it and then you, (not the kids), gently blow a quick tuft of air in his face/nose area with your mouth, when he drops it praise him. It works with our little goof ball every time. My hubs does it with the pit bull at work Yikes! Im so proud of you. Be well my friend, Hugs, Kat P.S. our birdies flew the coop :( we didnt get to thank them or say goodbye!
