Family Home Evening.

I am so proud of my Drake. Seriously! I have the BEST kids!

Let me share with you why i am proud in this moment.
Drake was in charge this week of putting Family Home Evening together. He was extra worried for some reason this time around. He kept calling me at work & asking what he should do or wanted me to tell him what he should prepare. I suggested the Friend, and to pick out a story from there and then just share your feelings on the story. he called me like three or four times. Anyway, long story short... i was excited to see what he would come up with. I tried not to help him too much, cause i wanted to see & wanted HIM to see that he could use his smart brain of his and come up with something great. Well, of course he did.
Drake conducted & Sadie was in charge of the music. (oh boy... I think we sang about 50 songs... but ok) Ü
Drake had chosen a story on prayer. It was about a little boy that saw the importance of prayer. Drake shared why he thought prayer was important. Sharing that if we ever need anything, that we can go to our Heavenly Father and ask. It was great. BUT THEN... he had also planned a game to go along with his story!
He pulled out the game of Jenga.
(Jenga is a regular at our house. I LOVE these pictures of Sadie)
So, as he is pulling out the game of Jenga, he explains that "life is sorta like the game of Jenga! The decisions that we make could be so critical. (yes he used that word)Ü Sometimes life can be stacked up in front of us. So many decisions that we have to make, and if we don't choose the right or make the right choice... our life can fall apart! But... just like the game of Jenga, if the pieces fall, we can always pick them up and stack them up again. Just like life, because of prayer and the gift of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, we can pick up the pieces and start over fresh-and hopefully won't make the same mistakes again."
All on his own! I am SUCH a proud mommy!

Ok...that brought tears to my eyes! I think our kids comprehend a lot more than we give them credit for. The Jenka game was an excellent idea to use for an example. (Papa might have to use that in a talk!!!) Drake, you rock and I love you and Sadie so much. Concrats on your finishing the race. I loved all the pictures!
