Happy Fourth of July!

The day started SO EARLY! I tried so hard to get to bed at a decent hour before... but failed. The day started early the next morning anyway. I was up at 4 and got the kids up at 4:30. We had to make our way to Provo @ Kiwanis park, so that we could get registered for the race. I was hoping that if we got there first and early enough... there was a chance to get our race shirts that morning, but no luck. Stupid me I didn't register early--and it ended up costing me literally double! for us to run. Oh well. lesson learned, and we will be registered early next year.

This was so much fun! Even though the day had to start out so early, and the kids weren't excited at first (cause it was so early) they quickly warmed up as we got their race chips on and their numbers fastened.

VIDEO:

Sadie got excited when we put her number on her. And then again... when she saw our 'start' line go up! (see video below-too funny!) We hadn't started yet... but wanted to get a picture of the FINISH line. This is Kiwanis park, where we registered that morning... then we had to 'hike' to our starting line which was about a mile away. But this is where we ran back too, and all the races finished back at the park.

Papa, these shots are for you! This is us standing behind the start line, waiting for the race to start. Notice the 'Y' in the back on the mountain!

VIDEO:

(this is the video of Sadie, when she saw the 'start line' going up. too cute!

We found Drake at the finish line. He had come in almost 10 minutes before we did! Way to GO Drake! He was so proud of himself... & so was I of course! (proud of him that is!)

Sadie stretching after her big run! (so cute!) Ü

Parade VIDEO:

At the Parade. Shaade & Sadie. (thanks Nana & Papa for bringing our most loved chairs to us from Oregon!!!)

Here we are in the blazing sun! (4th N & University-it was sure nice when the sun went behind a cloud every now and again) We are sitting in the croud with the Lee family. There in front is Dakkota & McCade. Then Me, Shaade, Sadie, Kelli, Cierra, Eeaston, and Rhett. (Drake was the one taking the picture)
