from Kansas City to Mapleton City!
YIPPPPIII!
Karen and I flew back home on Monday the 7th. BOY was that an adventure in itself! Thank GOODNESS i had Karen by my side. She is such a sweetheart! OH my goodness! As it was when we got to the counter to check in, Karen was first... and her bag weighed 54 LBS. That was 4 too many! Well, being the good girl that she is... she had brought along her scriptures to the convention and guess what! all she had to do was remove them from her suitcase and Presto! 50 LBS even!
Well, then it was my turn! EEKS! My first suitcase weighed 75 LBS! Oh my gosh! The second one was a whopping 56 LBS! Oh my goodness! what was i going to do! Well in the heaviest one.. i had added all my goodies from the Amish Country bakery! That box was 25 LBS! Guess what! I carried that one on! Long story short... we were SOMEHOW able to get both my bags under (or at) 50lbs! I couldn't believe it! It was going to cost me something like $150.00 just to get my luggage on the plane! But we shifted and repacked... and we were able to get them down. Pshewww! However... there were two tradgedies! In all the cumotion, i forgot that i had put a beautiful bottle of Malple Syrup that I had received from my friend Cheryl that she had brought with her from Canada!!! OH! OUCH! that one hurt! Of course Karen and I got "selected" for EXTRA security! GO FIGURE! anyway, they said 'ma'am... you can't take this on the plane! The other loss was a bottle of Apple Butter :( that i had purchased in the Amish Bakery.
Anyway, we made it!
Mom and the kids picked me up at the airport in Salt Lake. I was so excited to see them, as they were me.
On the way home... guess what we did? Stopped and purchased a FRIDGE! lol I knew that we needed one... so we stopped before we even got home.
I thought that i would have SO much more energy when we finally got home... but NOPE! I was worn out! So, we spent the evening visiting and resting and talking and planning about what we were going to do 'tomorrow'.
